Logo Design by Jackie Foran.
When my eldest son started in junior infants in 2002 the principal at this time, asked parents to submit ideas for a school logo. I felt that the school seemed like a family, and that children, teachers and parents would work together to create a strong school.
So these three elements became three strands that when plaited together became a strong rope. The circular shape represents the universal symbol of unity and wholeness.
The colours were only decided upon last year, (2010) when we felt that green, white and gold would be apt for Kerry and for Ireland, to be proud of where our school is situated.
My son has gone through all eight years of primary school, and has happily and successfully started secondary school in town. My other four children are content and doing well in each of the four classrooms this year with dedicated teachers and the principal, Denis Reidy. One of my sons was on the Student Council last year and one of my daughters is on it this year, and I am involved in the Parents’ Association.
These three strands of student, teacher and parent make the school stronger as we work together.
